How to Completely Remove Nailpolish Color From Your Nails

Polishes that are darker in color or thicker in texture tend to be stubborn to remove. When removing the polish, it seems easy enough to get it off the nail, but what do you do when it gets under the free edge or it sticks the skin in the cuticle area? Since the polish is hard to get off with just soap and water, there are a few different remedies that may help with the removal of polish that you just want off. Now.

First thing to do is completely remove the polish from the nail. A pure acetone remover is best when removing dark colors, thick polishes, and glitter because it literally eats away the polish. Put your choice of polish remover onto a cotton pad and completely cover the nail with it, press the pad firmly onto the nail and swipe away from the cuticle down to the free edge. What this does is concentrates the polish away from the skin and prevents it from getting all over this skin. If the polish does get onto the skin, common household products that may surprise you can be used.

One thing that can be used to remove nail polish stain from the skin is lemon juice. Lemon juice is acidic and works as a lightening agent. When the lemon juice is applied to the skin, it begins to lighten the stain and make for easier removal. Rubbing alcohol can be used around the fingernail for stain removal because the molecules in the alcohol are very close together which aids in dissolving products quickly. This method may be too drying to the skin for some people, so if you’re prone to dry skin you might want to avoid this method. The last method is to apply a lotion or petroleum jelly around the cuticle before polish removal. This will act as a barrier to the skin and not allow the residue of the polish to soak into the skin.

Have you been avoiding using dark polishes or polishes with glitter just because you can’t get them off your skin?
