How to Reduce Under Eye Circles

The biggest factor to under eye circles is sleep deprivation. Sleep is key to rest, repair, and rejuvenate the body. Although your body cannot “catch up” on sleep, one way to reduce the circles under the eyes, if caused by sleep deprivation, is to maintain a regular sleep schedule. If the circles appear brown, the body could be lacking nutrients. To replenish these missing nutrients, consume more greens like broccoli, kale, and spinach. It’s important to sleep and have a proper diet.

Another factor that could be leading to under eye circles is pale skin. Since the skin around the eyes is the thinnest of all areas, the blood vessels can show through very easily. Unfortunately there is not a treatment for this, besides applying a high-coverage concealer everyday.

Significant weight loss can make the “bags” or fat pockets under the eyes disappear. In some cases this would be a good thing, but the “bags” under the eyes are there to make the skin under the eyes appear plump. When the fat pockets are reduced, the eyes can have the dark appearance, or a “sunk in” appearance. The only permanent way to fix this problem is blepharoplasty or getting an (eye lift). There are many collagen creams that can be applied topically. These creams need to be used everyday to see results. Once the cream is no longer in use, dark circles may come back.
